Bordello Location

How to get to Il Bordello:

Il Bordello is a Dutch barge located at the end of Kings Street on Welshback. If you are walking, walk all the way down King Street and onto the quayside at Welshback; the boat is moored directly opposite the Bedbar part of the Premiere Lodge Hotel between Bar Med and Loch Fyne.

If you are arriving by car Welshback has on street pay and display parking, this is often very busy. There is an NCP car park on Queen Charlotte Street and further pay and display parking in Queen Square and The Grove. Please be aware that Welshback is one way in the direction of Bristol Bridge to Redcliffe Bridge.

Directions:

By Ferry….

We are lucky enough to be situated right next to a docking point for the Bristol Ferry Company so why not make a nice summer day of it!

By Train…

Bristol Temple Meads railway station, which is connected to stations all over the England, Scotland and Wales, is a short walk from Il Bordello (approximately 10 minutes) or you can pick up a cab from directly outside the station. For information on timetables / ticket prices - 08457 484950 or click on the link above. A train from London can take as little as 90 minutes from Paddington mainline station. If you are walking from Temple Meads; at the bottom of the station cul de sac turn right down Cattle Market Way and then right again into Temple gate. Walk for a short way and then opposite you on the left is Redcliff way. Walk down Redcliff Way past the church carry on ahead of you over a roundabout and then over a bridge. Turn right into Welshback and you will find us a little way up on the right – Il Bordello has a red canopy so you can’t miss it!

By Bus or Coach…

Bristol’s main bus station serves both local and national coach and bus services. It is currently closed for refurbishment and is scheduled to reopen in late 2005. During this time both buses and coaches are stopping outside. For bus information check out theFirst Bus website. There are also national coach services running from the bus station including National express (countrywide national services including Heathrow, Gatwick and London Victoria) and Bakers Dolphin who run a thrice-daily London flyer to Marble Arch.

Bristol Bus Station is a short walk from Il Bordello or you can get a cab from the taxi rank outside. If walking, look out for the huge flag type sculpture to your right (next to House of Fraser) and take the road straight ahead behind it (Union Street). Follow this to its end (Castle Green), where you should turn right and follow the road round towards Bristol Bridge. When you can see the bridge cross over the road towards it (but not over the bridge) and turn right, immediately to your left is a cobbled road which follows the water – this is Welshback. Continue down Welshback until you see a boat on your left with a red awning – you have reached Il Bordello.
