Bordello Bar

 

Il Bordello serves a diverse range of quality bottled beers including Italian Nastro Azurro, Peroni Gran Reserva, Morretti, Becks, Oriental Tiger and Asahi. Also Hoegarden white beer, local bottled organic cider and Gem Ale (from Bath).

Il Bordello has fully trained free pour cocktail staff. who can serve anything from a classic Martini to a Rose Petal Bordello Martini, and from a rum and fresh mint Mojito to a non-alcoholic banana Biondi.

Il Bordello offers good quality Lavazza coffee, Italian style drinking chocolate, fruit and nectar juices and speciality teas, which are served with Italian chocolate pan di stelle biscuits right through the evening. Sobriety is the new Rock 'n' Roll.

Il Bordello has a children's license, so children are welcome on board until 9.00 pm.
Please ask at Front of House for colouring books, pens and toys.

Health & Safety regulations preclude us from having dogs on board, but from May when the deck is open, you are welcome to bring your dog to sit with you on deck as long as it does not offend other members and guests.

bordello rose martini wyborowa vodka stirred and aromatised with rose petal liqueur, served straight up with a single floating rose petal.

wild flower wyborowa vodka, raspberries and elderflower shaken with ice and served straight up.

classic sour choose a spirit or liqueur to be shaken with fresh lemon juice sugar syrup and bitters, poured over ice.

collins choose from plymouth gin, wyborowa vodka, makers mark bourbon or reserve de martell cognac poured over ice with fresh lemon juice, sugar syrup and angostura bitters, topped with soda water.

razilla fizz plymouth gin, fresh lemon juice, vanilla syrup and raspberries shaken together, strained over ice and topped with soda.

bramble plymouth gin shaken with fresh lemon juice and sugar syrup, poured over crushed ice and laced with crème de mure.

bloody mary wyborowa vodka poured over ice with a splash of sherry and lemon juice topped with tomato juice. salt, pepper, worcester sauce, tabasco and celery salt to your taste. horseradish is also available for the more adventurous or try the original gin version instead of vodka (red snapper).

bonaparte’s return reserve de martell cognac, mandarin napoleon and liquor 43 vanilla, shaken with fresh orange juice, lemon juice and honey, served over ice.

soft passion wyborowa vodka, crème de fraise, fresh lemon juice and pineapple juice shaken with a splash of chambord.

tuscan mule tuaca Italian liqueur and fresh lime juice poured over ice and topped with of ginger ale.

manhattan a choice of rye or bourbon whiskey stirred with angostura bitters and vermouth, served straight up with a cherry or a twist. sweet, dry or perfect, how we make it is up to you.

rob roy a choice of chivas regal or ballentines scotch stirred with sweet vermouth and angostura bitters, served straight up with a cherry.

old fashioned a choice of bourbon stirred with sugar, angostura and orange bitters, finished off with plenty of orange zest.

mint julep mint leaves crushed with sugar and topped with ice, makers mark bourbon and a splash of chilled water.

bounissima fresh orange crushed with elderflower cordial and honey, topped with vodka, grand marnier and hot water.

lemon souchong reserve de martell cognac, lemonello, lemon juice and vanilla syrup charged with hot lapsang souchong, lemon zest and cinnamon bark.

mothers milk mozart black chocolate liqueur and havana club 7 yr old dark rum charged with hot frothy milk.

new fashion makers mark bourbon, a splash of grand marnier, sugar, orange and angostura bitters stirred together with hot water and charred orange zest.

stewed fruit freshly pressed apple stewed in hot water with honey and black pepper then strained into cherry puree spiked with tuaca Italian liqueur and served.

rosso caldo l.b.v. port, mandarin napoleon, honey, lemon and orange juices all combined with fresh fruit and cinnamon bark and topped with hot water.


non alcoholic cocktails(all @ £2.50 - £3.50)

virgin mojito fresh mint crushed with sugar and topped with crushed ice, fresh lime juice, still mineral water and topped with a little soda.

virgin mary as hot or mild as you like. tomato juice and a splash of lemon juice over ice and combined with salts and spices as you require.

biondi fresh banana, raspberry puree, milk and cream shaken together with ice and served thick and straight up.

mellow morello cherry puree shaken with fresh lemon juice, sugar and still mineral water, served on the rocks.

bordello lemonade half a lemon crushed with a little sugar and topped with crushed ice, elderflower cordial and sparkling mineral water.

Vodka O2



Putting the chilled long-barrel shot glasses on ice on the bar, Il Bordello serves the new oxygenated Vodka O2 straight as ice cold shots.

Cocktails made with Vodka 02 are enhanced in terms of both the flavour and the experience of the drink because of the infused oxygen.

Oxygen Vapour Alcohol Shots

AWOL, which is an acronym for Alcohol With Out Liquid, mixes spirits with pure oxygen, creating a cloudy alcohol vapour which can be inhaled.

Il Bordello launched AWOL at the Massive Attack VIP party in the summer, and offers AWOL in conjunction with Vanilla and Raspberry Stolichnaya Vodka, Pure Rose and Lilac liqueurs & Spanish Fruit liqueurs - for the purest and sweetest fruit and flower flavours to be experienced.

Domaine Bergon
Domaine Bergon is situated deep in the very heart of the Vin de Pays d’Oc. Here Jerome Vic, a southern French native, is at the winemaking helm taking a passionate, hands-on approach to his craft. The estate now consistently produce an outstanding portfolio of single variety and blended wines made from only selectively harvested estate grown fruit. Pesticides and unnecessary fining chemicals are kept to an absolute minimum producing wines that are head and shoulders above their counterparts for sheer quality, value and flavour.

A confection of grape varieties featuring Syrah, Grenache, Cinsault and Merlot are responsible for this plum and red fruit flavoured, food-friendly red.

Bianchi 2003 £13.50 (bottle)
Montepulciano d’Abruzzo, Italy
Made by Umani Ronchi an Italian estate at the forefront of Marches wine production and internationally appreciated for consistently producing innovative wines from quality indigenous fruit.
Tasting Note: This full-bodied red has luxuriously soft plum and red fruit flavours – perfect served with pizza, pasta with cheese sauce or roast meats.

 

Zenato Valpolicella 2001 £14.50 (bottle)
Valpolicella, Italy
Family owned Zenato Winery have a long winemaking tradition in both Lombardy and Veneto regions of Italy. Their award-wining cellars are situated in San Benedetto di Lugana on the banks of Lake Garda. Now expertly run by Sergio Zenato who has a keen eye for consistently producing wines of international calibre. Made from selectively harvested, old vine Corvina, Rondinella, Sangiovese and Molinara grown in premium vineyards situated in hills north of Verona.
Tasting Note: Aged in French oak barrels - this red is medium to full in body with delicate almond aromas and velvety red fruit flavours.

 

Casa de la Ermita Monastrell 2003 £17.50 (bottle)
Jumilla, Spain
Wine luminaries in Decanter magazine recently voted Casa de la Ermita as ‘one of the world’s 50 best value buys’. It’s not hard to see why with this uncompromising Spanish red of decided power and structure.
Tasting Note: Hand picked fruit skilfully fermented produced this moreish blackberry, chocolate and vanilla flavoured wine. Simply delicious either on its own, with red meat or veggie treats.

 

Marqués de Murrietta Castillo Ygay Reserva 1999 £25.00 (bottle)
Rioja, Spain
Founded in 1872 and now run by the Cebrian family, Marqués de Murrietta are among the most traditional of fine Rioja producers consistently making wines of international stature. Created from ultra-ripe Tempranillo with a dollop of Mazuelo and Garnacha all aged separately in for just under two years in American oak.
Tasting Note: A Tempranillo-driven Rioja, medium bodied with a firm grainy structure backing up lively ripe fruit with a clean, bitterness on its exceptionally long, cherry finish.

Ca’ Lunghetta Pinot Grigio 2003 £13.50 (bottle)
Marche, Italy
Outstanding Pinot Grigio was skilfully selected from beautiful vineyards situated in the Molise region, which sits in-between the Apennines and the Adriatic coast of central Italy.
Tasting Note: Extremely aromatic with subtle hints of white fruits and flowers follow through to the flavours – the finish is long and packed with almond and hazelnut.

 

Chateau Pavillon de La Brie 2003 £14.50 (bottle)
Bergerac, France
A vivacious, cool fermented Sauvignon Blanc (70%) Sémillon (30%) blend from the estate’s own lovingly tendered vineyards situated in-between Dordogne and the Gironde.
Tasting Note: Packed with vibrant green fruit flavours balanced by exotic lychee and almond flavours. Medium to full in body, this wine has an extensive finish characterised by strong citrus fruit flavours.

 

Grande Arte Alvarinho 2002 £17.50 (bottle)
Estremadura, Portugal
Made exclusively from Alvarinho – arguably Portugal’s best white grape variety – expertly made at the Neiva family estate where cool conditions and long hours of sunshine are perfect for cultivating extremely ripe fruit.
Tasting Note: A dry white with real finesse – deliciously creamy apple flavours are balanced by a long, citrus finish.

 

Daniel Millet 2003 £25.00 (bottle)
Sancerre, France
Winemaker Daniel Millet is extremely picky about the fruit he hand selects to produce this benchmark single vineyard Sancerre made from choice Sauvignon Blanc from his La Gemière vineyard.
Tasting Note: A classic Sancerre, packed with mineraly character and a wonderful gunflint finish. Serve slightly chilled with all manner of fish dishes or rocket salad.

Blush, or rosé, Zinfandel has long been one of California`s greatest commercial successes. Off-dry and packed with light lifted fruits, it is the perfect quaffer for the hottest day of the year.

Full, fruity and slightly sweet with vibrant strawberry and red berry fruit flavours. Fantastic with desert.

Classic Italian fizz from the Veneto region of North East Italy. This fizzy fruit bombshell is gently aromatic, with crisp, delicate fresh apple flavours. A good aperitif or serve with fish, shellfish or vegetarian dishes. A dry sparkle, which cannot be called Champagne due to production outside the Champagne region of France, but a strong contester with a distinctive taste, used to make the traditional Bellini at Harry's Bar in Venice.

Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut NV £37.50

A fresh fizz and superbly balanced palate with light appley fruit and citrus notes which linger on the elegant finish.
It is delicious served with green olives, with canapes or with fish and seafood. The Bordello Champagne of Choice.

Round and supple with tasty tropical fruits on the palate.

Billecart Salmon Rose £75.00

Pale, even, onion skin/pink colour and a fairly fine, persistent mousse.
With aromas of straw and strawberries, bone dry with rich, toasty flavours, redcurrant fruit, good acidity and a long fresh, finish. Serve chilled with fresh Strawberries and Creme Fraiche, or a light Chocolate Parfait.

 

Perrier Jouet Belle Epoque 1996 £95.00

Soft notes of white flowers, honey and lemon married with the aromas of fresh fruits like plums and pineapple. The colour is a greenish-gold, reflecting a magnificent, crystalline brightness. The wine presents an intense, strong effervescence, with fine and regular bubbles. The flavour confirms the richness of the bouquet:initial freshness, light but strong and lively, with some subtle notes of honey and vanilla. Good length, slightly acidic. And you get to keep the hand-painted bottle.
